The Role

EFW Radiology is seeking a Regular Part-time (0.8 FTE) Nuclear Medicine Technologist!

Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine, Bone Mineral Density, MRI & CT Supervisor, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing nuclear medicine and bone mineral density procedures in an efficient and effective manner while providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs nuclear medicine and bone mineral density procedures in accordance with all established protocols and safety requirements;
  • Compiles and verifies patient histories and relevant information prior to beginningprocedures;
  • Adheres to all EFW Radiation Protection Policies and Procedures and incorporates the ALARA principle;
  • Assesses and evaluates nuclear medicine and bone density images to aid in diagnoses;
  • Communicates in a professional manner to patients, educating them on examination requirements and promoting the principles of good health and radiation protection;
  • Ensures all necessary documentation is accurately completed;
  • Collaborates with Radiologists on scans when required;
  • Demonstrates EFW values of Compassion, Trust, and Meaning in the workplace;
  • Adheres to all privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures as they relate to EFW, our patients and our employees;
  • Undertakes other related duties as assigned.

You have the following

  • Completion of diploma or certificate from a recognized nuclear medicine technology program;
  • Current CAMRT/ACMDTT registration and license to practice in Alberta;
  • Exhibits sound judgment and effective decision making skills;
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities required;
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the provision of compassionate patient care;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work as an effective team member as well as independently;
  • Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of RIS software including PACS, and Netcare etc.

Hours of Work

EFW is dedicated to providing quality patient care with daytime, evening and weekend clinic hours throughout all of our clinic locations. All EFW Radiology employees working in, or providing shared services to, our community clinics shall participate in being scheduled in the evening or weekend shifts as required. Our employees must also be able to work at any EFW clinic location and provide their own transportation.
