Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point .Preferred: Previous experience in a circulator role in both the OR and in the Endoscopy environment.Responsibility SummaryThe Ambulatory Surgery Manager/Site Administrator has major responsibility for the implementation of the mission, vision, plans and standards of the organization and nursing/clinical practice within this assigned area of responsibility. The manager is accountable for the environment in which clinical nursing is practiced. He/she must allocate available resources to promote efficient, effective and compassionate nursing care delivery. Emphasis on the facilitation of an atmosphere of interactive management and development of collegial relationships among surgeons, nursing and other members of the healthcare team is a must. The Nurse Manager will also engage in the following activities: Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care; Provides guidance and supervision of personnel accountable to this position; Coordinates nursing services with the services of other healthcare disciplines; Assumes responsibility for staffing and scheduling personnel appropriate to the care requirements of patients served; and Oversees the development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives utilizing evidence based research to benchmark and support best practice standards. The manager is also responsible to oversee the coordination of facility services to include but not limited to materials management, environmental services, clinical engineering, medical waste removal, medical gas supply monitoring facilities/maintenance, telecommunications, informational services.
