About the role

Patient Support Officers are responsible for providing a wide range of support services to clinical and non-clinical areas across the RBWH Herston campus. Primary duties include Infection Control Cleaning, Patient Transportation and Patient Handling within wards, operating theatres and clinics.

All successful candidates are initially employed as “on-call” casuals to meet RBWH's requirements to fill short notice absences and to provide holiday relief for our 400+ staff. We endeavour to offer all casuals temporary contracts ranging from one week to one month and beyond for those who demonstrate their willingness to engage and complete their tasks to the standard expected in a health care environment.
