About the role

  • The STARS Research Consumer Engagement Project Officer will lead the STARS Research Consumer Group, to ensure that consumers and community members improve the quality and relevance of research in ways that realise the vision of ‘no research about us without us'.
  • To improve the supportive processes, resources, and practices for the STARS research consumer group to develop their research capability and facilitate their involvement and engagement in research, using consumer and community engagement guidance, standards, toolkits and policies from Metro North, the University of Queensland, Health Consumers Queensland, the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA).
  • Develop strong links, working relationships and networks with the STARS Consumer Advisory Network, research centre consumer groups, Metro North Engage and the University of Queensland consumer involvement activities, sharing resources and expertise.
  • Evaluate the impact of research consumer involvement and sustainability plans. Continue to develop the STARS Research Consumer Group.
  • Provide advice and support, training and mentoring toother staff involved in research with the consumer groups.
