The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Administration Officer (Switchboard) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Efficiently operate switchboard equipment by responding professionally to all incoming calls to the hospital
• Communicate regularly with all departments of the hospital to maintain accurate and current records
• Exercise judgment and initiative by identifying emergency situations from incoming calls and respond immediately
• Operate alternative communication systems to regularly liaise with hospital staff in the event of an emergency

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• The ability to undertake shift work, covering a rotating roster 24 hours a day, seven days a week including public holidays
• While not mandatory, previous experience working in a dynamic fast paced changing health care environment and under pressure is desirable
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time
• Base salary ranging from $74 722 - $83 0397 per annum
