About us

The Therapy Place is a private paediatric practice. Our client base ranges in age from 0-18 years with a wide variety of developmental needs. We are a multi-disciplinary clinic consisting of speech therapists, occupational therapists and dietitians who pride ourselves on putting our families first. Our two AHA’s support therapy staff with making resourcesand assisting in sessions. We also have a great administration team to support with payments, phone calls and bookings. Our warehouse space has been turned into a gigantic sensory/therapy gym which all therapists make use of.

We are looking for an additional paediatric speech therapist to join our speech team on a full-time or part-time basis. New graduates are encouraged to apply, and we have an extensive graduate training program with weekly supervision and a reduced case load. Opportunities for immediate start as an AHA with flexible hours until graduation!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and identify language and communication needs including articulation, language, literacy and delays in learning.
  • Devise and deliver treatment strategies over telehealth and face to face, including home/school programs and work within individual therapy or group sessions in consultation with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work in a variety of settings including clinic, schools, kindergarten/childcare and home visits.
  • Liaise with other professionals involved in each child’s care.
  • Writing reports for a variety of audiences including NDIS, schools and families. 
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or equivalent.
  • Eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Ability to work independently and seek support where necessary.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Current driver’s license and own car.
  • Working with Children’s Check and police check.
  • Passion for working with children and families and having fun!
  • Willing to develop skills in a broad range of areas.
  • Preparedness to engage in team building events.
