The Asia-Pacific region currently includes Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Singapore employing nearly 3000 team members.

As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are now looking to appoint a Safety Advisor to join the team at our Lurnea facility in Sydney.

This is an initial fixed-term contract for a minimum of 7 months due to maternity leave.

The key purpose of the role is to support a best practice safety culture by developing and implementing site specific target safety programmes, collect and collate safety data and produce reports to support safety initiatives, provide advice and guidance to frontline Leaders on safety matters.

Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing strong internal relationships to actively reinforce and promote best practice in safety, including the Zero Harm Charter

  • Developing safety functioning skills within the leadership team and broader work group, through Safety Leadership training, coaching and mentoring.

  • Monitoring, evaluating and recommending improvements to the safety system

  • Monitoring all incidents raised in the safety reporting system and providing coaching and support where required to improve safety functioning skills in raising incident reports

  • Monitoring compliance with workplace policies and procedures through conducting formal and informal internal audits, including audits of external contractors

  • Developing and documenting procedures, safe work method statements and job safety analysis

  • Assisting in the implementation of strategies to ensure continuous improvement in Chain of Responsibility compliance

  • Follow practices and procedures regarding Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), HACCP and Approved Arrangement guidelines whilst also ensuring Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance


To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role

  • Qualifications in Safety or related disciplines

  • Excellent knowledge of the workplace, health and safety legislation, with the ability to interpret relevant legislation

  • Experience in conducting operational risk assessments

  • Experience in managing workers compensation claims, injury management and return to work programs

  • Experience in partnering with operational Leaders to drive and maintain a strong safety culture

  • Strong understanding and implementation of safety procedures, product safety, quality and legality issues

  • Lead Auditor qualifications
