Calling all Work Health and Safety Specialists!

We are seeking a Work Health and Safety Specialist to assist with the implementation of strategic objectives and initiatives within a key government agency's newly drafted Work Health and Safety (WHS) strategy. This role focuses on developing robust management systems to support the agency's growth, adaptation, and exclusivity. The successful candidate will provide leadership, technical control, and strategic guidance in complex WHS matters, ensuring high-level integration and consistency across the agency.
Key Duties:

• Provide leadership and direction within the WHS function, managing and leading a team to ensure consistent communication, performance standards, and strategic outcomes.
• Utilize specialist expertise to mentor and advise on the development of WHS capabilities, including complex WHS matters.
• Engage with senior leadership to influence and advocate for effective WHS practices and policies.
• Analyze trends in WHS performance to identify risks and design effective remediation strategies, establishing sustainable WHS policies.

Essential Criteria:

• Strong leadership skills with proven experience in Work Health and Safety management.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to manage complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform the responsibilities and duties outlined, showing a high degree of alignment with strategic WHS objectives.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in managing complex WHS projects within a government setting.
• Ability to comply with and understand the significance of the draft Work Order and how it aligns with the strategic direction of the WHS strategy.
