Position Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Employment Type: Temporary and Permanent vacancies available

Hours per week: up to 38 hours per week (Rotating 24/7 Roster)

Position Grade: Registered Nurse (Year 1 - 8)

Salary: $70,049.73 to $98,351.39 base per annum

Enterprise Agreement: Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Nurses Agreement 2017

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Emergency Department (ED). This is an exciting time to join our established team as we are progressing our capital redevelopment of our ED. To match our new state of the art ED we are developing new models of care that reflect the needs of our community and our organisations mission and values.

Our Emergency Department has advanced and innovative nursing practices in place that will develop you and provide you with a platform to take your career in the direction that you are looking for. The Emergency Department promotes professional career development through an internal programme, however also has exciting post graduate scholarship funding opportunities available.

About you:

We are a supportive and strengths based team; we welcome applications from both experienced emergency nurses along with nurses new to the speciality. You will be well supported by a Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Clinical Nurse Educators and a team of Nurse Unit Managers. Our dedicated team of medical staff are also very committed to working with you.

Selection Criteria:

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Akenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

3. Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team

4. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

5. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system

6. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills

7. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse

8. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads with in a complex environment
