Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to work for the world's leading manufacturer of chocolate and confectionary products.


You would be supporting the operation and technical team for the factory, making sure processes and standards cover legislation regulations.


The Role:

To engage & lead associates and contractors by providing pro-active advice and recommendation to the MELTON site team, to maintain corporate and legal compliance, continually improve processes & systems to achieve their goal of Creating a World Class Occupational Health and Safety culture and as a result zero incidents, injuries and health risks.


The role requires a sound understanding of health and safety law and associated regulations, to ensure appropriate legislative and corporate requirements are understood, met and maintained and that competent advice is provided to the SES manager and the MEL team.


You will continually improve performance through competent input to the safe design of the work environment and organisation, safe systems of work, coaching of safe behaviour and the setting of objectives and targets.


An excellent communicator and team player, an essential part of the role is the day-to-day interaction with site and its personnel, to proactively lead safety, security and asset conservation improvements, coaching individual competence and aligning key priorities/ programs.

The role will also chair/ facilitate site meetings including the SMT management review and the contractor’s safety team.

Manage both the external and internal auditing system and ensuring that the SES manager and management team have sufficient information to review sites performance.


You will represent the site and is an active member of the UK SES team forum, driving Safety, Security and Asset Conservation best practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain site policy and procedure program to maintain legal compliance.
  • Procedure Program management for PTW, Hot Work, Risk Assessment, Lone Working, Site transport and emergency procedures, plus deputy Radiation Protection Supervisor.


Key Skills and experience required:


  • Previous Health & Safety experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Qualifications: Higher National Certificate qualified or equivalent (essential)
  • Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate in OH&S (essential)
  • A sound understanding of health and safety law and associated regulations, to ensure appropriate legislative and corporate requirements are understood, met and maintained and that competent advice is provided to the teams.
  • An excellent communicator and team player
  • Ideally your H&S experience is within manufacturing, otherwise within Engineering
  • Have a sound understanding of health and safety law and associated regulations, to ensure appropriate legislative and corporate requirements are understood, met and maintained.


Essential Experience:

  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • Knowledge of UK legislation
  • Either manufacturing or engineering industry experience
