About your opportunity:

Fixed term temporary full-time, 12 months

The Fellowship in Vascular Surgery offers incumbents the opportunity of working within a skilled team of Vascular Surgeons to develop management, leadership, teaching and clinical skills.

Common procedures including lower limb revascularisation by endovascular, open and combined procedures; endovascular aneurysm repair including Branch devices, TEVAR; Carotid endarterectomy; open aortic surgery; AV fistula creation and maintenance; other vascular access procedures for oncology and renal purposes; venous surgery; and diabetic foot procedures.

The unit offers:

  • Well established easy access to digital subtraction angiography (Hybrid Suite) where currently approximately 600 procedures per year are performed by the department;
  • Open operating lists;
  • Regular out-patient sessions.
  • An established vascular in-patient ward and access to ICU;
  • A vascular laboratory with resident sonographers and established duplex imaging;
  • Easy access to a radiology department with CT and MRI imaging;
  • Outreach services to Mackay.

Our offer:

Generous remuneration package value up to $189,592 p.a., comprising:

  • Base salary between $125,808 and $145,865 p.a. (L4-L9)
  • Employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%)
  • 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% loading
  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
  • Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
  • Motor vehicle allowance - $21,000 or $25,500 p.a.
  • Professional development assistance – allowance, Vocational Training Subsidy (if applicable), PD leave, and exam leave

Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
