Clinical Practice Lead

AgeCare is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our clinical team. Reporting to the Regional Director, Alberta this position will play a key role in providing onsite operational support related to care practices and standards to enhance the person-centered care provided to residents and their families across AgeCare. This position will support ongoing outbreak planning including the development and maintenance of outbreak and pandemic protocols and guidance resources with the sites. The Clinical Practice Lead will play an instrumental role in the advancement and support of Allied Health staff, focusing on building strong working relationship and alignment with a collaborative practice lens for all sites.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensures all AgeCare communities are providing exemplary person-centered care through skilled, knowledgeable, responsible care teams throughout all AgeCare’s care models.
  • Expert knowledge of the Continuing Care Health Services Standards within Alberta.
  • Responsible to ensure that flagship care programs and foundational practices are implemented, evaluated, and standardized throughout the organization.
  • Supports implementation of transformational initiatives that support the organization’s goals to enhance quality clinical outcomes, improve resident safety, establish organization-wide leading practices, and improve the cost-effectiveness of care.
  • Supports and ensures effective Incident Reports Management, system safety analysis and resulting recommendations are appropriately actioned and communicated.
  • Participates in Accreditation Canada activities and AgeCare’s integrated Accreditation Canada processes.
  • Provides clinical direction, supervision, and coordination, as appropriate, for clinical leadership, front-line care staff, and consultants.
  • Supports front-line operations in translating organizational initiatives/programs into everyday practice.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and monitors all service continuity risks related to the community. This includes, all care, and hospitality services inclusive of environmental and facility risks.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor of Nursing with current CRNA registration or eligible for it.
  • Experience: 5+ years advanced clinical care experience in a complex health care environment, preferably with an exposure to the continuing care sector. Infection, Prevention & Control experience an asset.
  • Possesses leadership and management skills to ensure the development and promotion of effective and efficient clinical leadership.
  • Knowledgeable of all relevant Legislation, Standards and Acts, e.g., Regional Service Delivery Standards, Nursing Home Act, FOIP, PIPEDA, Ethics, HIA, HPA, Professional Standards of Practice, and PPCA.
  • Demonstrates a caring, empathetic attitude in a professional and mature manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a comfort in interacting with residents, families, and care and support services staff.
  • Exhibits creativity and success in planning and implementing innovative approaches to excellence in care.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team.
  • Must be able to provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, or be willing to obtain one.
