About you: 

You are a qualified Physiotherapist with demonstrated high-level clinical skills in assessment and intervention practices (including provision of home programs, and equipment prescription), encompassing cases of complex nature, where established principles, procedures, and methods require some expansion, adaptation, or modification. You possess a high level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in the practice and theory of generalist physiotherapy in a community setting. Experience with CHSP eligible clients would be highly desirable and you can initiate, plan, and evaluate local service improvement initiatives and to lead change through quality.

Your opportunity: 

The Senior Physiotherapist will deliver a high-quality community based clinical service to a broad range of Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) eligible clients within the Cassowary Area Community Health region aiming to promote, develop and maintain independent client functioning in all aspects of daily living.

Your role:

  • Provide high level clinical physiotherapy services to a complex and varied caseload of CHSP eligible clients with infrequent supervision and in accordance with CHSP Program Guidelines. This includes:
  • Exercise independent judgement and complex problem-solving skills in Physiotherapy assessment and intervention to promote, develop and maintain client's functional capacity and independence in all Activities of Daily Living.
  • Provision of in-home restorative care/therapy, including mobility equipment, and liaise with CHSP team to implement preventative health strategies for individual clients/carers, self-management, and chronic disease management.
  • Undertake Falls Prevention assessment and implement exercise programs and preventative intervention with identified at risk clients.
  • Integrate evidence-based principles into daily practice and act as a resource for the CHSP team.
