An exciting opportunity exists for an Allied Health Clinician – Senior Occupational Therapist, to deliver high level Occupational Therapy clinical services and leadership across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health (SCHHS).

Inpatient services are provided at Nambour General Hospital and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.  The inpatient units provide short to medium term inpatient assessment and treatment services for people experiencing acute episodes of illness, who are unable to be adequately supported in the Sunshine Coast and Gympie communities.

The SCHHS is a values-based organisation. We are committed to the maintenance of a culture in which we treat our colleagues with respect as we do our patients, consumers and the community. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver independent high level Occupational Therapy clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
  • Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced allied health practitioners and students as delegated.
