An exciting opportunity has arisen within the ARI Critical Care Unit for a Band 6 Practice Education Facilitator. This role involves supporting and developing staff educational needs for a duration of one year initially. The Critical Care unit offers a comprehensive education program aligned with the National Competency Framework for Registered Nurses in Adult Critical Care. Upon completing the national competencies, staff will be expected to undertake an academic module in Critical Care nursing at the university level.

Key Requirements:

Candidates must demonstrate excellent clinical, leadership, teaching, and communication skills. A keen interest in education and teaching is essential for this role. Applicants should have completed the critical care pathway or its equivalent and possess a minimum of two years' experience in an ITU setting as a Band 5.

Unit Overview:

The base site for this role will be ARI, covering general ICU (merged with Medical HDU), Cardiac ICU, Surgical HDU, and the Hyperbaric unit, which houses the only category 1 Hyperbaric Chamber in Scotland.

Main Duties:

· Delegate, coordinate, and supervise all education on the Unit.

· Provide expert tuition, support, and guidance for nursing, medical, and other multidisciplinary team members working with critically ill patients.

· Assess learning needs required by staff to fulfil their roles in Critical Care, aligned with the Unit's service provision plans.

· Develop, implement, organize, and evaluate learning resources/competencies and other staff development programs to meet the Unit's and individuals' learning needs.

· Monitor staff compliance with training requirements and maintain appropriate documentation on staff progress and achievements.
