Senior Staff Nurse Orthopaedic, Spinal & Sports Medicine

Private Hospital - Inpatient Ward

37.5 Hours a week

Salary up to £45,000

Working for one of the UK Leading Orthopaedic & Sport Medicine facilities, Thisorthopaedic and spinal hospital overseeing a wide range of Ortho/Spinal Surgery's as well as Sport injuries and joint replacement surgery using cutting -edge Mako robotics.

Duties:

• Demonstrate advanced clinical specialist skills to ensure delivery of innovative evidence-based care.
• Support the Charge Nurse/Senior Sister to monitor the safety and quality of care for patients.
• In the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the ward.
• Take the lead on delegated responsibilities as defined by the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
• Act as a positive role model to provide leadership in the clinical area and promote excellence through practice.

Experience:

• RGN with aminimum of 2 year post-registration experiences as a Senior staff Nurse or Band 6
• Previous Hospital / NHS Experience
• Ability to be flexible with a rota, including weekends and night shifts
• Undertaken a relevant phlebotomy course and current clinical practice in this area
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• Relevant orthopaedic experience
• Good IT skills and ability to use clinical data systems
• Basic understanding of patient care issues in day surgery.
• Be able to demonstrate knowledge of NMC professional code of conduct and its application.
• Understanding of fundamentals of nursing care and ability to deliver a high standard of individualised care.
• Up to date clinical skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and some experience of managing a small team.
• Ability to work on own initiative and manage own workload.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
