What You Will Be Doing
Peninsula Health is seeking an enthusiastic specialist General Medicine Physician for a substantial fractional role. General Medicine is the largest unit within the Division of Medicine, with an established collaborative team of full time and fractional senior medical staff caring for a substantial cohort of patients. It’s a fantastic time to join the General Medicine unit at Peninsula Health with opportunities for core service growth with the building of a new hospital, and the development of research and training opportunities in the setting of an established model of care. This role is suitable for early career physicians seeking an opportunity within a collegiate unit with a strong mentoring culture among the senior physicians.
The General Medicine Unit has 5 ward-based teams at Frankston hospital with an additional team at Rosebud hospital. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, enthusiastic physician to join our growing team of General Physicians in actively developing the increasing service opportunities. The unit will be embedding an additional stream at Frankston hospital and a rapid review clinic as part of Peninsula Health’s patient flow management strategies. Our new hospital is under construction, with the potential for further service expansion from 2026.
All the General Physicians are involved in the recruitment, supervision and training of basic and advanced general medicine physician trainees in collaboration with the Director of Physician Education. In addition to the supervision and training of HMOs, interns and medical students. The successful applicant will also have a keen interest in the further development of clinical research within the unit.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
• MBBS or equivalent degree
• Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Recognised as an accredited Specialist in General Medicine with the RACP
• High level interpersonal, communication and leadership skills

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent?
Essential: Are you registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration?
Essential: Are you recognised as an accredited Specialist in General Medicine by the Specialist Advisory Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Physician?
Essential: Do you have FRACP or equivalent?
Essential: Do you have strategic management skills in service development and delivery?
Essential: Do you have proven clinical skills and experience in General Medicine?
