Wellbeing and Safety Advisor

About the role

Join our dynamic People and Culture team and become the cornerstone of support for our staff. As a key member, you'll be the go-to advisor for all things health and safety, organisational wellbeing, risk management, reporting, and investigations. With your knowledge and diligence, you'll champion our proactive health, safety, and organisational wellbeing goals, fostering a holistic safety-first culture. Your guidance will empower our staff and leaders to proactively address health and safety issues and uphold the highest standards of practice, in compliance with regulations.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with leaders to help build their capacity and knowledge to manage their own team's wellbeing, health, and safety.
  • Assisting leaders in the assessment and investigation of workplace-related accidents/incidents/near misses and hazards.
  • Ensuring the organization remains compliant with Regulations and Codes of Practice developments and changes.
  • Developing resources and tools for leaders and staff to promote and provide a safe workplace.
  • Collecting and reviewing data to identify trends and implement actions to ensure the safety of our staff.
About you

To be successful in this role, you will have an extensive understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, with experience working in diverse settings or high-risk environments. You will also have excellent consulting and advisory skills with the ability to partner with key stakeholders to minimize safety risks and relate Occupational Health and Safety to business priorities.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of OHS Management Systems
  • Consulting and advisory skills, including the ability to relate OHS to business priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience in applying knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation Regulations, Compliance Codes, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards in a diverse, complex, or technical setting
  • Advanced skills in oral and written communications of a technical or legislative nature
  • Current driver’s license
