The role:
As a Clinical Lead Orthotist, you will work with inpatients and outpatients in designated adult and paediatric clinics, treating an extensive range of conditions including stroke, neuromuscular conditions, diabetic foot, lower limb musculoskeletal complaints and common foot pathologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting, developing, and managing a small team of Orthotists
• Clinical management and scheduling to ensure smooth clinical operations.
• Providing excellent orthotic care within general orthotic clinics
• Maintaining a good working relationship with the MDT team
• Being a direct link to the NHS management who oversee the contract.
• Promoting the use of CAD scanning for measuring and Orthotic design
• Supporting and contributing to Blatchford services by contributing to our national care pathways, protocols, and leadership on orthotics
• Mentoring and supervision of undergraduates and graduates
• Opportunity to work closely with manufacturing team in Sheffield.
What are we looking for?
Essential skills and experience
• Qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics
• HCPC registration
• Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable)
• Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear
• Able to prioritise and manage your own workload and that of others
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels
• Be able to manage difficult, challenging and sensitive situations
• Good judgment and decision-making skills
