Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership in adhering to and promoting our client's EHS Policy and site EHS rules.
  • Manage and execute all environmental aspects of the EGL-1 project.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports for client review.
  • Develop and provide necessary environmental and sustainability plans.
  • Oversee the execution of environmental and sustainability tasks including surveys, mitigation, monitoring, and communication.
  • Act as a liaison for external reporting to the Project Manager.
  • Implement environmental communication and training plans.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and audits.
  • Assist in recruiting specialized personnel as needed.
  • Manage environmental programs and action plans including permits and waste management.
  • Ensure compliance with our client's standards and procedures.
  • Monitor subcontractors' compliance with environmental requirements.
  • Record and analyze environmental events for prevention strategies.
  • Advise site management on legal and environmental matters.
  • Develop and implement an environmental subcontractor audit program.
  • Collect sustainability data and record social value initiatives.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for ESG and Sustainability topics.
  • Develop the EGL-1 Sustainability Project strategy in alignment with our client's objectives.
  • Lead environmental strategy development for compliance with Projects & Service.
  • Support sustainability management plans for EGL-1 projects.
  • Represent our client in industry-wide initiatives such as Carbon Neutral Operations and ESG goals.
  • Lead data collection and verification efforts.
  • Drive decarbonization and Sustainability efforts within EGL-1 operations and value chain.
  • Engage internal stakeholders in Sustainability initiatives.
  • Coordinate deployment of EGL-1-specific Sustainability strategy and report progress to stakeholders.
  • Support commercial teams in providing Sustainability information to customers.
  • Foster employee engagement and educate stakeholders on Sustainability.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in business management, Sustainability, environmental engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in the GRID industry or power generation industry.
  • Experience in sales, commercial functions, or strategy/management consulting.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of French or German is a plus.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and functions.
  • Proficiency in contemporary IT tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent reporting and documentation skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
