About us:

Maternity Services at the Emerald Hospital is the main birthing hub for the Central Highland district and caters for approximately 350 births annually. The level 3 Neonatal Service provides stabilisation of the newborn prior to transfer to a tertiary facility when required. There is a strong focus on multidisciplinary care planning and networking with Community Agencies.

About the role:

The position works collaboratively with other members of a multidisciplinary team ensuring safe and reliable care is provided within the dynamic health environment.

  • Undertake clinical assessment and working with the inter-professional team to deliver holistic care patients and their families of the CQ Health.
  • Use midwifery knowledge and skills to competently assess, plan, implement and evaluate woman centred care across the care continuum and gain appropriate support to address care needs that are outside scope of practice.

About you:

Mandatory qualification/s: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is mandatory.

  • Demonstrate nursing knowledge and skills to competently assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that support competent nursing practice, delegation, and supervision of enrolled nurses/ assistants in nursing and working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrate ability and motivation to continually progress own competency along the continuum from novice to advanced level.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $121,106 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A hourly rate between $41.73 - $53.53 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
