Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south to Gympie in the north.

The Nursing Talent Pipeline is designed to streamline the process of attracting nursing professionals of specific roles, catering to both temporary and permanent vacancies within SCHHS. As a part of this recruitment process, candidates may expect to engage in online assessments, interviews, and the submission of additional documentation to evaluate their suitability for employment. Upon successful completion, candidates will be considered for employment opportunities that align with their skills, work location, and availability, ensuring a tailored match for both the organisation and the individual.

The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) provides person centred nursing care within a dynamic health environment. They are required to perform a range of duties that require basic skills, knowledge, training and experience.

Successful placement onto the Nursing Talent Pipeline is not a guarantee that you will be offered employment with SCHHS.  By submitting this expression of interest you will not automatically be considered for other advertised vacancies within the SCHHS. Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for own actions whilst contributing to positive patient outcomes by undertaking tasks that support person centred care as delegated and supervised by the Clinical Nurse (CN) and Registered Nurse (RN). Work may be overseen by an Enrolled Nurse (EN).
  • Timely and efficient control and distribution of stock ensuring accuracy, financial integrity and stability.
  • Ensuring the purchasing and maintenance of equipment and environment is of a high standard in consultation with the senior nursing staff.
  • Adhere to established guidelines, standards, protocols and systems of work.

Salary between $2,523.20 - $2,762.80 p.f. (f/t) or salary rates: $33.20 - $36.35 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 1 Band 1). Applications will remain current for 12 months.
