Prison Health Services (PHS) is a rapidly growing division within the West Moreton Health region, delivering primary health care services to detained, remanded and sentenced prisoners and Young Persons across eight facilities (six Correctional Centres and two Youth Detention Centres).Prison Health Services has varied operating hours at each centre. Prison Health Services is a seven-day service with either 24/7 roster or two-shift roster (AM and PM), with centres varying between 8-hour, 9.5 hour, and 12 hour rotating shifts.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Prisoner Triage within Prison Health Services is an advanced clinical practice registered nurse who provides clinical support and nursing leadership.
This position provides expert knowledge, skill and abilities for clinical care and guides clinical practice across prison health centres to support patient centred triage and pathways. This position also supports the Nurse Unit Manager to meet the strategic and operation objectives of patient-centred care within a Correctional Centre and within an inter-professional team framework.
