Salaried GP

Background -
An outstanding opportunity to one of the perennially highest rated surgeries in BNSSG, in the ever-popular small town of Yate.
You will be joining a small but very cohesive and tight-knit team, with a Partnership that is very well-respected and very involved locally and with the ICB, ensuring the practice remains at the forefront of innovation.
Workload is reasonable and well-managed, with both 15-minutes and 10-minute appointment times available depending on your preference (or a mixture), visits are almost all done by the ECPs or the Physician Associate and Duty is more or less a regular day given they operate a same-day model.
You'll have a significant 3.5 hours of admin time per day and you won't miss dinner with the family, the kids' bedtime or your favourite gym class with no evening working on the days they require nor any weekend cover.


Salary - £10,300 - 10,500 per session plus indemnity and BMA model contract

The surgery -

  • Highly rated, traditional family practice
  • Dynamic Partners holding additional roles in the ICB
  • Geared towards reducing GP workload
    • Clinical support team of Nurse Manager, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Mental Health Practitioner, Frist Contact Physio, Paramedics and a Health & Wellbeing Coach
    • GP Assistant completing a lot of the time-consuming GP paperwork including sorting all non-abnormal results
    • List-holding to ensure continuity and less time taking histories
  • Coffee break every morning
  • A younger, less deprived population than neighbouring practices
  • Purpose-built premises
  • Your own room
  • EMIS Web


Your role -

  • Salaried GP
  • 4-5 sessions per week
  • Fair and manageable workload including minor illness and quick fixes ie. not all complex pathology
  • Option of 10-minute or 15-minute appointments or a mixture of both
  • Morning coffee break
  • Undaunting Duty day - very rare to have any extras
  • No evenings or weekends
  • Virtually no home visits
