About the role

The Administration Officer (Health Information Services) is the first point of contact for the Health Information Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating clinical, confidentiality, and user access forms for the whole hospital. You will have strong customer service skills and be able to remain organised during high periods of demand and activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handles incoming calls, communicates messages, and redirects calls to relevant personnel.
  • Coordinates Clinical Forms design, ordering and supply procedures, and maintains master files.
  • Facilitates bookings for the Computer Training Room and Loan Laptops in accordance with guidelines.
  • Process Subpoenas, Chapter 16A, Solicitor, Insurer, Health Practitioner and Patient requests for release of information.

What you bring

  • Excellent organisational, verbal, written communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer skills and relevant experience using health administration systems and Microsoft software.
  • Demonstrated discretion and ability to maintain Confidentiality in all matters, and to uphold NSW Health Privacy Principles.
  • Experience working in a Hospital or Health Care setting in an administrative support role and able to demonstrate medical terminology skills (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, flexibility in approach to work priorities, ability to process a high workload on a constant basis, and ability to assist with change.
