Pharmacist (Custodial Medicine) (VPSG4)

An opportunity exists for a part time (0.4-0.6FTE) pharmacist to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team of pharmacists, nurses, nurse practitioners and doctors in providing health services to people in Police Custody. You will be responsible for day-to-day pharmacy operations. In addition, you will provide clinical support and advice to medical staff.

This position will involve regular weekday shifts.

Your duties will include:

  • Daily operational duties associated with procurement, dispensing, supply, and distribution of medicines.
  • Clinical review of medication charts
  • Providing support to the Pharmacy Manager
  • Contribution to protocol and procedure development and reviews
  • Liaison with external stakeholders
  • Contributing to audit review processes to ensure safe, timely and effective use of medicines.

  • Current registration with AHPRA

  • The ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team on patient management
  • A demonstrated ability to learn and adapt

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x part-time, ongoing position is available.
  • The salary plus superannuation will be pro rata.
  • This position is located at the Melbourne Custody Centre, 520 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne 3000.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
