Job description:
THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Sustainability Advisor to join our Victoria Projects team on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Environment and Sustainability Manager, your day-to-day activities will support the Project Manager.

You'll join our Warrnambool Line Upgrade project team based in Geelong for approx. 6 months (or until completion) working 1-2 days on site each week, then transition to our next Melbourne based project. Office located in Melbourne CBD with working from home flexibility.

You will provide professional and qualified advice to project managers, senior operational management and our customers while supporting key site environment and sustainability personnel, with a particular focus on project personnel responsible for the delivery of Conditions of approval relating to Environmental compliance and Sustainability.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assist the Project Manager deliver environment and sustainability performance
  • Deliver technical advice on environment and sustainability matters pertaining to the project
  • Field based compliance inspections, implement environment and sustainability strategies and providing a value-added support service, while maintaining compliance with internal, legislative and client requirements
  • Assist environmental and sustainability performance across DT Infrastructure in general
  • Continually identifying improvement opportunities and act upon these to provide the Project Managers with sustainable, industry leading solutions

Profile description:
ABOUT YOU
  • Rail or linear construction industry experience preferred, or similar heavy industry environment.
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science/ Environmental Engineering/ Environmental Management or similar
  • Proven experience in an equivalent Environmental Compliance or Environmental Management role
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide guidance for all levels of staff and managers
  • Demonstrated success in providing environmental initiatives and achieving environmental outcomes as part of a team
  • Effective planning, time management and organisational skills
  • Hold a current Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card - preferrable but not essentia
