The Role As a Consultant Anaesthetist, your clinical responsibilities encompass peri-operative anaesthetic and resuscitation care for in-patients. This includes delivering anaesthesia and analgesia services in diverse settings such as the birth suite, operating theatres, wards, ICU, and the emergency department.
Additionally, you'll play a key role in coordinating weekly Pre-anaesthetic Outpatient Clinics and contribute to organising non-clinical education and quality assurance activities within the department. Your commitment to delivering high-quality care extends to both regular and after-hours shifts.

The Facility The Anaesthesia Department delivers elective and emergency anaesthetic services across various specialty areas, including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT (including Paediatrics), and a bustling Obstetric unit. Accredited for training by ANZCA, this department offers a dynamic environment for professional growth. The facility recently underwent significant expansion with the opening of a new intensive care unit, additional operating theatres and the opening of two new wards, taking the total number of beds to 298.
