The Location
You will be living in Hobart, on the southeastern coast of Tasmania. Your Main Duties
As a Theatre Nurse, you will work both independently and in collaboration with multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your duties will include:
  • Conducting pre-operative assessments to gather patient information, including medical history, allergies, and any potential risks or complications related to anaesthesia or surgery
  • Providing information about the upcoming surgery, including what to expect before, during, and after the procedure, and answering any questions or concerns patients and their families may have
  • Assisting with patient preparation and ensuring the patient is ready for surgery
  • Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient operating room environment
  • Maintaining strict aseptic techniques to create and maintain a sterile field during surgery
  • Acting as a patient advocate during surgery by ensuring patient safety, comfort, and wellbeing
  • Assisting with the transfer of the patient from the operating room to the post-anaesthesia care unit or recovery area and providing initial post-operative care
To be eligible for this position, you must have the following:
  • Current AHPRA registration, no restrictions
  • At least 1 year of recent experience in Scrub Scout, Anaesthetics or PACU Nursing
  • Working with Children's Check, or willingness to obtain
  • National Crime Check, or willingness to obtain
