The Hospital: This is Australia's second oldest hospital opening in 1804, and is a major clinical teaching and research centre working closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. The hospital provides acute, sub acute, mental health and aged care inpatient and ambulatory services to a population of about 240,000 people and has 550 physical beds, including 460 acute overnight and 90 day beds.
The Role: Our client is looking for Paediatric Basic Trainees for 2024 (year 1) to join their team. The Paediatrics Basic Trainee Year 1 is responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides after hours emergency cover at the hospital as determined by the Medical Workforce Unit.
These positions include rotations in General Paediatrics, Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care (NPICU) and Paediatric Surgery.
The Paediatrics Basic Trainee Year 1 positions are accredited for basic training, and ideally suited to applicants who are in, or interested in joining, the paediatric training program, and have at least 3 months of Paediatric experience.
The Requirements: You must have a minimum of 3 months Paediatric experience at registrar level and hold registration with AHPRA.
