Assistant responsible for health services

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are currently looking for an assistant responsible for health services concerned with the health of residents. He/she contributes to the planning and control of activities relating to the provision of care and the well-being of residents. He ensures compliance with professional standards as well as regulations for the certification of private seniors' residences relating to his sector.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adhere to standards and legislation in accordance with private seniors' home certification and the code of ethics
  • Collaborate in the follow-up of the medical dossiers, occasionaly arrange appointments and prescriptions for the residents
  • Collaborate with residents for medical visits
  • Create and maintain metuculous notes in the residents Dossier in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ)
  • Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the vested parties
  • Help maintain the relationship of trust with residents' family and friends as well as with various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
  • Upon request by the residents doctor or pharmacist, update the residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
  • Upon requests from physicians, pharmacists or the CISSS, follow up on residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Good sense of interpersonal communication
  • Good communication
  • A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
  • 5 years of experience as a nursing assistant (mandatory)
  • Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
  • PDSB training
  • Member of the OIIAQ
  • Knowledge of Symo software (an asset)
  • Knowledge of the Certification Regulations for private seniors’ residences (an asset)
  • Bilingualism, written and spoken
