A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 first level registered nurse with current NMC registration to work within the District Nursing Team based in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute HSCP.
This is a full time (37 hrs) community nurse post and covers Dunoon and the surrounding rural areas consisting of 7 GP practices.
The hours cover 08.30 to 20.00hrs.
This includes weekends on a rota system and bank holidays.
It is essential to have knowledge and transferable skills relevant to community nursing which include wound management, continence care and palliative care.
Previous community experience is desirable but not essential and applications from newly qualified nursing staff are welcome.
The role also encompasses work on prevention, anticipation and supported self management to enable everyone to live longer, healthier lives at home or in a homely setting.
You will need the ability to work autonomously as a lone worker and as part of a team, along with good communication skills.
Evidence of CPD is essential.
A full driving licence and use of your own car for work purposes are an essential requirement of the post.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
