The role 

Reporting to the Director, Policy, Partnering and Systems Administration, your role provides high level strategic direction and advice on the application and development of contemporary HR policies. The role will proactively manage and ensure compliance with all current industrial frameworks, legislative requirements, employment conditions and enterprise bargaining agreements relevant to Queensland Health's workforce.

The successful person

You will have demonstrated:

  • Demonstrated high level ability to conceptualise, develop, communicate, and evaluate new innovative and creative approaches to address complex organisational issues with respect to complex HR policy development while insuring alignment with industrial, regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse range of HR policy related activities and priorities across organisational boundaries to ensure that agreed priorities and service delivery requirements are met.
  • Demonstrated high level conceptual, strategic thinking and political awareness coupled with expert knowledge of the industrial relations employment framework as it relates to Queensland Health's workforce and the broader Queensland Public Sector.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills including the ability to manage complex and sensitive issues within agreed delivery timeframes.
  • Well-developed management skills and knowledge including high level ability in the areas of planning, managing resources, program management, budget preparation and financial management.

Human Resources Branch provides advice and support to our customers on human resource policy and strategy development, employee relations and industrial reform, executive remuneration frameworks, safety and wellbeing systems, capability and leadership initiatives, workforce management and recruitment services, performance and conduct services and HR business intelligence and other advice and implementation support across Queensland Health for whole-of-government workforce initiatives.
