The role 

The Principal HR Business Intelligence Analyst role encompasses ensuring adherence to service quality standards and safety procedures while contributing to the development of HR tools and reporting solutions. This involves optimizing the HR Business Intelligence suite, extracting and analysing data, managing data access, and fostering collaborative problem-solving within the team. Additionally, the role involves maintaining data dictionaries, enhancing communication skills for effective stakeholder liaison, and embedding system-view principles to drive outcomes across sectors, while upholding ethical decision-making and participating in continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with organizational values.

Through a combination of technical expertise and interpersonal skills, the role ensures the efficient utilization of resources, promotes transparency through data management practices, and cultivates relationships to facilitate data-driven decision-making. By engaging in ongoing collaboration and adopting best practices in release and deployment techniques, the Principal HR Business Intelligence Analyst plays a vital role in supporting evidence-based planning and enhancing team performance within the Human Resources Branch.

The successful person

To excel in this position, you'll need a strong proficiency in utilizing PowerBI and other business intelligence tools such as SQL and Qlik Sense for data analysis and presentation. You will be responsible for leading the technical development of applications that present workforce data, guiding strategies within the state. Additionally, you should possess advanced skills in Power BI and Power Apps development within an enterprise setting, utilizing workspaces effectively.

Moreover, your background should include experience with establishing data connections to source systems, as well as extracting and transforming data in Oracle or MS SQL environments. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams is essential, contributing to the successful management of time-sensitive projects to meet specified milestones. Furthermore, your communication skills, both written and verbal, should be at a high level, enabling you to compile reports, discussion papers, and submissions. Your track record should also demonstrate proficiency in fostering productive working relationships, partnerships, and teamwork.
