Eastern Health
Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and state-wide specialist services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.
About the role
Eastern Health is offering you the opportunity to undertake a 12 month EN Transition to Speciality Practice Program. This course is intended to support both novice Enrolled nurses & experienced general nurses wishing to pursue a career in Mental Health.
This structured program incorporates both theoretical elements in addition to practical experience with allocated study days, learning packages and clinical assessments. During the course, participants will be supported by experts within the clinical facility and the clinical education staff of the Learning and Teaching Directorate.
The program provides a career pathway for those Enrolled Nurses seeking to work in the mental health speciality environment whilst enhancing their critical thinking, theoretical knowledge and clinical skills and is a great stepping stone to ongoing Enrolled Nurse opportunities across the Mental Health Program
Our EN Transition to Practice Programs are progressive, responsive and innovative. We use the latest evidence to develop our program study days together with regular feedback from our participants. We support and facilitate the development of a well-prepared, high quality, safe nursing workforce committed to improving health outcomes.
Our Learning and Teaching team and clinical staff provide a supportive environment that encourages the development of clinical skills, reflective practice and a sense of professional identity and accountability. As a graduate you will be a key participant and contributor to change and innovation and we invite you to join us for an exciting year and future with Eastern Health.
