Dietitian

Montessori Care is a registered NDIS service providerĀ of in-home aged care and disability supports.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic Dietitian to join our diverse team in Greater Sydney NSW.

As a Dietitian specialising in NDIS, home care, and aged care, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nutrition care plans for individuals with disabilities and older adults. Your role involves collaborating with clients, caregivers, multidisciplinary teams, and community resources to optimise nutritional health and well-being. You will provide evidence-based nutrition interventions, education, and support to address dietary needs, promote healthy eating habits, and prevent or manage nutrition-related conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' nutritional status, dietary intake, medical history, and relevant health conditions.
  • Develop individualised nutrition care plans based on assessment findings, client goals, and dietary recommendations.
  • Create customised meal plans that align with clients' dietary requirements, cultural preferences, and personal choices.
  • Educate clients, caregivers, and staff on topics such as healthy eating habits, portion control, label reading, and meal planning.
  • Monitor clients' nutritional progress, dietary adherence, and response to interventions over time.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate integrated care plans.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Accreditation as a Practising Dietitian with the Dietitians Association of Australia or equivalent regulatory body.
  • Clinical experience in NDIS, home care, and/or aged care settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of nutrition guidelines, dietary recommendations, and therapeutic diets for individuals with disabilities and older adults.
  • Strong assessment, counselling, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in computer skills for documentation and data management.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may be conducted in various settings, including client homes, and community institutions.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate client needs, including occasional evening or weekend appointments.
  • Travel may be required to visit multiple client locations within a designated geographic area.
