Electrical Safety Officer

Electrical Safety Officer who have experience in commercial sites- high rise buildings is needed for this project.
The Role

  • Professional Electrical-WHS inspection/audit and reporting services are provided as needed to comply with current Queensland Government regulations, Australian Standards, and customer specifications.
  • The provision of detailed and prompt reporting on any non-conformances, fault(s) or dangers that may constitute a violation of safety, regardless of how such a fault or hazard happened (workmanship, material, etc).
  • The submission of detailed reports at the end of inspections that summarise the activities performed and the results of those inspections, as required.
  • Provide guidance and help to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding electrical safety/WHS issues.
  • Consult with clients representatives and other agencies to determine electrical safety needs and standards.
  • Review, refine, and implement methods for managing electrical safety compliance.
  • Assist with investigations as needed with HSE department.
  • Examine regulations and best practices for health, safety, and risk management in relation to electrical safety.
  • Liaise with the Project Permanent Works Electrical Safety Management Plan to reflect future stages of the project. The current ESMP covers the Construction Network and will be retained; however, a separate document/additional ESMP will be implemented for the Permanent Works.
  • Contribute to the project policy and permit-to-work system.
  • Be accessible to interact with Industrial and Safety with the ETU.
  • Make a personal commitment to the SHE Cultural Framework, policies, Safety Essentials, and Management System standards and expectations.
  • Liaise with ESO inspectors.
Skills And Experience
  • Previous experience in the trade.
  • Has exeperience in commercial high rises
  • A minimum of two years' experience as an Electrical Safety Officer is required.
  • Capability to handle all parts of the position via software.
  • Strong grasp and knowledge of systems, legislation, and procedural compliance.
  • Ability to establish positive working connections with workers, clients, and others
  • Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety (minimum)
  • Current First aid certificate
  • Current drivers license as you will be required to travel between job sites
  • Have an understanding of the ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 accreditation
  • Able to use Microsoft Office/Suite
