Vet Surgeon | Growing Practice

Job Description

Vet Surgeon | Growing Practice

Locally Owned Clinic with Recent Refurbishment

Negotiable Salary DOE & Extensive Benefits

Are you a Veterinary Surgeon looking for something new?

Do you want to work in an established practice that has served the same clients for 20 years?

We are working with an ambitious practice owner based in Bristol who is looking to add talent to their team. Due to ongoing success and an increasing number of clients coming to us, we are recruiting for a new Veterinary Surgeon to join the team and be our 6th Vet.

The Clinic:

Our purpose built clinic has 2 large operating theatres and a multitude of consult rooms. We also boast the latest diagnostic equipment with specialist dental X-Ray and modern ultrasound equipment. We have separate ward space for dogs and cats and the facilities for more complex echocardiography, orthopaedic work and a state-of-the-art in house lab.

Our team consists of 5 Vets, 8 Nurses, a confident Practice Manager and additional support staff. We are proud to have clear and efficient diary management so all you have to do is the job you do best: offer excellent clinical care for our animals. We even have a physiotherapist that visits us for added variety!

The Job:

As the new Surgeon on our team, you would join the clinical rota currently set at 40 hours per week with 1 in 4 Saturdays. You will get involved with both consultations and first opinion surgeries through out each day and help support graduate vets on their journey to be a confident, general practitioner.

We predominantly see small, companion animals but have had an ever growing case load of exotic pets including reptiles, rabbits, small furries and avians. An interest in exotic's is a bonus, but not a necessity.

The Candidate:

We are looking for an experienced, RCVS accredited Surgeon who is confident in all areas of first opinion, general practice. Ideally, you will have 5+ years post registration experience and be happy performing both surgeries and consults.

What's in it for me?

We are very flexible on salary and are happy to hear what your expectations would be. There are a variety of benefits available:

- No OOH Commitment

- Unmatched pension scheme

- 28 Days annual leave

- Generous CPD allowance and support; certificates are heavily encouraged!

- Professional memberships paid for

- A variety of additional wellbeing benefits including mental health support and first aiders on site!

Where is the clinic?

This practice is in Bristol. Commutable from Bath, Swindon, Gloucester, Weston-super-mare, Newport and surrounding areas.
