We are excited to announce that we are looking for Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our established nursing team at Broadford Hospital, our brand new facility for Skye and the surrounding area. We work closely with our sister hospital in Portree so there will be an opportunity for you to work in both hospital sites.

This permanent post supports our vision of a highly skilled, experienced, flexible workforce that has knowledge and skills in delivering modernised services. You would be part of a dedicated professional nursing team delivering a high standard of nursing care on a mixed medical admissions ward. The work is dynamic and varied due to our rural community and it being a popular holiday destination.

One of our Service's top priorities is nurturing the next generation of staff. The ideal candidate would be an enthusiastic Band 5 dedicated to delivering high quality care. You will be working with and supported with developed by a Band 7 Lead Nurse, Band 6 staff nurses and work alongside others Band 5s and Health Care Support Workers. They will provide you with expert advice on patients with any complex issues and developing sound clinical practice.

We have a variety of full and part time posts available that include an internal rotation of day and night duties. If you’re not looking for a permanent contract at this point in time then we would welcome applications for Band 5 nurses to join our bank scheme or nurses looking for fixed term contracts.

A relocation package would be available to the successful candidate subject to meeting the criteria.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
