About us:

The Rockhampton Hospital Surgical Unit is a 36 bed unit that provides an inpatient service to surgical patients in the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. The Unit offers a 24hour, 7 day a week service for all adult patients over the age of 17 and covers the following specialities:

  • Orthopaedics
  • General Surgery
  • Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT)
  • Gynaecology
  • Facio-maxillary (limited to patients awaiting transfer to Brisbane)
  • Urology
  • Opthalmology
  • Dental

About the role:

  • Engage in reflective and analytical practice and demonstrate professional and collaborative practice.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately, and report sudden alterations, in the patient's condition resulting in the EN's workload changes, in a timely manner to the Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife.
  • Practice collaboratively with the interdisciplinary health care team to promote safety, mitigate risk and promote the consumer and carer engagement in decision making and identification of processes for escalation of concerns.
  • Contribute to quality health care by providing health promotion and education to recipients of healthcare services and their careers and significant others.
  • Under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife, work to achieve best practice outcomes within CQHHS.

About you:

  • Mandatory qualification/s: Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Demonstrates sound evidence-based clinical skills for an Enrolled Nurse and knowledge in area of practice and setting working within the scope of practice for an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Practices within the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)competency domains and standards for an Enrolled Nurse.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $72,639 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $35.92 – $38.12 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
