About us:

The Rockhampton Hospital Surgical Unit is a 36-bed unit that provides an inpatient service to Surgical patients in the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. The unit offers a 24 hour, 7 days a week service for all adult patients over the age of 17.

About the role:

A Nurse Grade 5 is a Registered Nurse who provides nursing services within health service settings; and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation, and context of care.

  • Takes and provides direction in developing pathways of care to improve patient outcomes.
  • Provision of nursing care that meets all relevant competency and professional practice standards relevant to the position.

About you:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current practicing certificate.
  • Although not mandatory, previous experience and or a relevant postgraduate qualification or working towards is desirable for this position.
  • Demonstrated high standard of written and oral communication skills with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their families.
  • Proven Ability to critically think in relation to planning and responding to a potentially rapidly changing environment regarding safe patient centred care.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $101,984 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $41.73 – $53.53 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
