We are seeking an experienced, flexible, and patient-centred Nurse Educator with a clinical specialty in Perioperative (scrub/scout) nursing. In this full-time role, you will work closely with the Education Manager, NUMs, Epworth Education Teams, and Perioperative Services Managers.
Your primary responsibilities will include providing:
Supervising and educating nurses undertaking post-graduate studies
Facilitating internal education programs
Offering support and clinical supervision to graduate nurses, new staff, and students across various surgical specialties
Delivering an exceptional patient experience within perioperative services
Engagement in multi-modal education methods to provide evidence-based and quality learning for staff, visiting practitioners and students
Encouragement and supervision of clinicians in their professional development to provide high standards of patient care
Encouraging and role-modelling empathy to patients, families and medical consultants
About the Company
The hospital is located in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. It is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. The hospital has eight operating Theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.
About You
Registered with AHPRA (essential)
Have experience in perioperative nursing – scrub/scout
Hold post-graduate qualifications in Perioperative nursing
Be able to demonstrate current experience in clinical education in the perioperative environment.
Hold post-graduate or Masters qualification in education (desirable)
Have excellent written, verbal & presentation skills
Have a contemporary knowledge of best practice in nursing care
Be highly accountable and demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging style
Be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes
