2024 Mid-Year Midwifery Graduate Program

We have an excellent opportunity to further your career within the Maternity Department at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba 

• 60hrs/fn (0.8FTE) permanent position, with the option to increase to full-time on completion of the Graduate Program 
• Choice between 8 hour or 12hour shifts
• Rostering includes public holidays, weekends, and rotating day/evening/night shifts

• 52-week program, commencing Monday 8th July 2024

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

This program is open to dual qualified registered midwife graduates who would like to join the 2024 Mid-Year Midwifery Graduate Program at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba.

An excellent opportunity to join a progressive maternity team and gain experience in ante/post-natal and intrapartum care. You will provide quality woman and family centred care through clinical midwifery practice, promoting collaborative relationships amongst the health care team and maintaining a woman focused approach across the continuum of midwifery care.

On completion of the Midwifery Graduate program there are further opportunities to continue your professional development with introduction pathways into Paediatrics or Special Care Nursery.

GRADUATE INFORMATION SESSION:  

A Graduate Information Session about the Graduate Programs offered at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba will be held between 1600-1700hrs on Tuesday 9th April 2024 in the Clinical School, L2 (Entrance 4). 

During this session, the Staff Learning & Development Manager and Clinical Nurse Educators responsible for each Graduate Program will be available to discuss the content of the programs as well as answer any questions you may have.

• the details of at least two (2) clinical referees who are aware and willing to be contacted to provide a reference (your referee's must be either a clinical teacher, preceptor, or other senior nurse that you have reported to at a clinical placement)

• APHRA Registration certificate or indication of eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with the Nurses and Midwives board (AHPRA) before Monday 8th July 2024

• Two relevant and recent clinical assessment reports 
• Completed Position Description document, ensuring Inherent Requirements of the Role has been signed
