Tell me more...The purpose of this role is to support and enhance the capacity of schools to develop structures and environments for young people undertaking secondary education in a multicultural predominantly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. The position enables and reinforces young people's ability to promote health and wellbeing by providing health information, advice, support and referral.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate client care for young people and the school community with consideration to varying cultural needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, and coordinate health promotion and community development activities in a school setting.
  • Willingness to acquire knowledge appropriate to interact in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and communities.

Requirements for the role:

  • Post graduate qualification in Nursing or working towards is highly desirable.
  • Participate in an on-call roster as applicable.
  • Travel across the TCHHS may be a requirement of this position in commercial and/or light aircraft and 4WD vehicles.
