The role:

The successful candidate will manage the design, planning and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring alignment with best practice IM/ICT design and delivery frameworks.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Specifies and designs complex systems and recommends appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures effective application.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of technical specialisms and provides expert advice regarding their application.
  • Manage the development, publication, implementation and compliance of all program/project(s) deliverables and related standards and procedures at an enterprise level.
  • Lead the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation planning of complex IM/ICT changes, including the evaluation of risks to the integrity of infrastructure inherent in proposed implementations.
  • Lead a team of specialist technical resources in the delivery of complex technical solutions.

Are you right for this role?
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in the design, publication, implementation, compliance and delivery of Device integration to industry best practice frameworks for large scale, complex IM/ICT program/project(s), preferably in the health care industry (SFIA Skill: ITMG: Level 5, HSIN: Level 4)
  • Experience designing systems and providing expert knowledge in relevant design standards, techniques and methods and tools for large scale complex organisations (SFIA Skill: DESN: Level 4, METL: 5)
  • Demonstrated experience in the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation planning of changes for large complex IM/ICT program/project(s). (SFIA Skill: CHMG: Level 4)
  • Demonstrated high level analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills with a proven record in the assessment and evaluation of technical requirements within a complex IM/ICT environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions. (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing, Collaborative working)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary project team. (NHS: Leading change through people)
  • Experience in the following technologies is highly desirable
    • Cloud Technologies (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS))
      • Azure SQL, SQL managed instances, Azure web apps, Azure functions, Azure load balancer, Azure data factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure blob storage, Azure log analytics, Azure app insights, Azure VMs
      • AWS S3, RDS, EC2, Lambda, ELB, AWS storage gateway, API gateway, SQS, SNS, AWS connect, CloudTrail, CloudWatch
    • Cloud Networking & Security
    • Cloud Automation (Azure DevOps, ARM, Bicep, AWS CloudFormation)
      • Cloud infrastructure deployment using Azure DevOps pipelines
      • Defining and creating Bicep, ARM, Cloud Formation templates
    • Azure Active Directory, Identity & Federation Services
      • supporting Azure Active Directory and cloud Identity knowledge & experience (Azure AD, AWS IAM, federated authentication)
    • Scripting Languages (PowerShell, Python, Shell, etc)
    • Microsoft Windows Server and Linux Server (Operating system management and support)
    • Active Directory and DNS
