About us:

Central Queensland Public Health Unit (CQPHU) consists of a multi-disciplinary team of staff including Public Health Physicians, Public Health Nurses, Environmental Health Officers, Epidemiologists, Data Officer, and Business Services Staff, including some with region wide roles. CQPHU covers both Central Queensland and Central West Hospital and Health Services (CWHHS).

About the role:

To provide expertise in data management to achieve program goals and service objectives in relation to the Immunisation Program and Communicable Disease Outbreak response, undertake and document complex quality improvement processes for the collection and maintenance of child, adult, and School Immunisation Program (SIP) vaccination data, with a special focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander vaccination data and other vulnerable populations as required.

About you:

  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate with team members and a wide variety of health professionals and organisations in order to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Demonstrated high level ability in understanding and managing medical or health related databases, including data entry, Excel spreadsheets and production of routine reports from databases.
  • Broad knowledge of National and State Immunisation Program Schedules and their reminder systems, or ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
  • Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills and the ability to work autonomously in a self-directed manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the goals of the work unit.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $9,238 p.m. is comprised of:

  • A hourly rate between $44.47 - $49.00 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements:

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.
