Posting date: May 6, 2024 Opportunity: We are searching for a Psychiatrist to join the University of Toronto Scarborough’s Health & Wellness Centre team. We are searching for an experienced psychiatrist with an interest in transitional-aged mental health. The psychiatrist will provide consultative psychiatric services within the Health & Wellness Centre. We are a collaborative team that provides health promotion programming, individual and group counselling, and primary care services to registered students. The successful candidate will work within our interdisciplinary team, which includes administrators, family physicians, registered nurses including a mental health nurse, health promotion professionals, and counsellor/therapists, to provide consultation and collaborative care. This is a great opportunity to work independently, and also collaboratively, with a mental health nurse, a case coordinator, and a patient navigator. • Remuneration: Fee for service + $160.60/hour for administrative business meetings • Hours per week: flexible (within the Centre’s hours of operation.) • Dictation services and administrative support are provided We are interested in meeting candidates for this role who have strong clinical skills, in addition to expertise and experience in: • interdisciplinary collaboration and shared care models • working with transitional age youth • trauma and evidence-based psychotherapies (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy) Candidates for this role must: • hold an MD degree • have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a psychiatrist • be eligible for appointment at the University of Toronto • be licensed or eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario • hold Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada specialty certification in psychiatry or an equivalent designation Interested candidates please submit a letter of introduction and curriculum vitae to: Shari Russell Opara, Director, Health & Wellness at [email protected] Thank you.
