The Social Work Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Social Worker – Advanced (Domestic and Family Violence) to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

  • Develop HHS-wide strategies to identify, analyse and develop a plan for increasing the capability of clinical staff in responding to DFV using contemporary models of education and training.
  • Design, develop, deliver and evaluate high quality and contemporary education to all clinical staff across the HHS.
  • Coordinate integration functions across the HHS inclusive of education, supporting the promotion of the Domestic and Family Violence High Risk Team (DFVHRT), and other initiatives relating to DFV.

About the Team

Our Social Work Service delivers care to patients, families and carers throughout our hospital system as well as in our community and rural based health services. Our Social Workers are members of the treating team and provide a broad range of generalist and specialist services including, counselling, care coordination and guidance regarding: diagnosis and illness management, treatment and recovery processes and referral information.
