About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate experience working in a high paced administrative position.
  • Demonstrate experience with or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of hospital-based revenue functions.
  • Be quality focused delivering work of a high standard, validity and accuracy.
  • Possess a knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, and become proficient in the application of Queensland Health customer information systems such as Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS), PRODA, Microsoft Suite and Integrated Electronic Medical Record (iEMR).

About your opportunity:

In this position you will be responsible for providing and maintaining a highly responsive and effective administration support, appointment management and customer service function, supporting clinical staff to ensure services meet current and future clinical needs, enabling the department to meet service demands and challenges. The RAC Administration Officer shall provide a high level of professional and courteous customer service to patients and family members, whilst maintaining accurate patient records, monitoring workflows relating to patient admissions, transfers and discharges and monitoring own source revenue opportunities. The Rapid Access Clinic will be supported by the RAC Administration Officer from 8:30am-12:30pm 7-days per week, including public holidays.

About your role:

  • Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service by responding to general reception enquiries for the department by answering all incoming telephone calls and ensuring accurate transfer of messages and information to support patients and staff.
  • Support the Rapid Access Clinic (RAC) General Practitioner, nursing staff and Medical Officers in the administration management of all RAC appointments and patients.
  • Verify and update all compensable data on the current patient information systems ensuring the capture of quality data and accurate recording of all patient details including demographic information, Medicare, Private Health Insurance, Department of Defence and Department of Veterans Affairs information.
