The role:
Queensland Health recognises that progressing our digital health strategy is an essential part of our ongoing commitment to delivering safe, effective and accessible healthcare to all Queenslanders.
Implementing an integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) across all public hospitals in Queensland is at the heart of our digital transformation and is essential to delivering care, closer to home. Already used in numerous facilities today, the ieMR is improving care and patient outcomes by offering Queensland Health clinicians access to real-time clinical information for their patients, at point of care.
Queensland Health is currently undertaking several of the largest health ICT programs and projects ever seen in Australia. The largest of these, the Digital Hospital Program (DHP) is a visionary program which continues to enable clinical services and enhance our technological capability by extending the availability of the ieMR into more hospitals and community care venues.
The Digital Hospital Program will deliver advanced ieMR to 5 Metro North hospitals over the first 5 years. In parallel Queensland Health will be adding over 2,811 additional hospital beds across the state, with four entirely new hospitals and expansions to 11 already world class facilities.
This program represents an opportunity for you to make your mark on the future of healthcare and help to shape the future of health centres across Queensland, for Queenslanders for generations to come.
Do you want to be a part of a dynamic, fast paced project team? Do you want to make a real difference by laying the foundations; and building clinical care capability that will provide digital healthcare solutions in the home and at the bedside, both now and in the future?
Driven by a desire to improve healthcare outcomes, you will have vision and motivation and will be able to use exceptional communication skills to provide strategic advice and direction to both your team and our stakeholders.
Reporting to the Program Director, and working under the supervision of Project Managers, the Senior Project Officer will support and coordinate the delivery of work packages and projects, ensuring solutions delivered are responsive to customer needs and sustainable in an enterprise environment, while ensuring that projects are managed in accordance with best practice guidelines and the Queensland Health formal project management approach and methodologies, to enable the achievement of consistent and quality project outcomes.
The role of a Senior Project Officer is to deliver, monitor and report on various work packages and project activities against agreed criteria.
